Klingon Movies

This page holds a series of short animated films that explore the Star Trek world from the viewpoint of the Klingons. As such, they are also in Klingon (with subtitles). The series title is Hov leng: Qo'noS tamey, or Star Trek: the Kronos Files; each episode also has its own title.

Technical details

A note on the spoken lines: I vouch for the grammar (I'm a stickler for correct grammar!) and the vocabulary. Many of the lines are taken directly from canon (the Star Trek movies, mostly) - especially those dealing with starship operation. But I have invented "slang" at times by expanding the meaning of existing words. You may notice also that the subtitles are not literal translations of the Klingon lines; I aim for capturing the spirit of the lines, rather than their exact reproduction.

Why don't your Klingons have bumpy foreheads!?

Hov leng: Qo'noS tamey takes place in the era of the Original Series. The Klingons didn't have bumpy foreheads then because (insert your favorite reason here). By the same token, there are no Birds of Prey; the "Cold Revenge" is a D-7 cruiser. (And I don't care what "Star Trek: Enterprise" may say to the contrary!)

If you'd like to view some other Star Trek fan movies, check my links page for several options. I haven't found any others in Klingon, though!
